About Spokly

Turn your voice into content.

What Spokly is

Spokly turns speech into text and content, in 33 languages. Upload a video or audio file, or just talk, and get a clean transcript. From there you can make subtitles for your videos or translate a document, without installing anything and without an account.

Why it exists

Creators waste hours rewriting what they already said. You record a video, a podcast or a voice note, and then you sit down to type it all again: the caption, the post, the subtitles, the summary. The ideas are already there, in your own words. Spokly is built to get them out of the recording and onto the page, so you can spend that time making the next thing.

Privacy first

The free tools run on your device. Transcription, subtitles and file translation happen inside your browser, so your recordings and documents are never uploaded to us. The first time you transcribe, your browser downloads a speech model once and keeps it for next time. That's also why the free tools can be free and unlimited: your computer does the work, not ours. You can read exactly what we keep in the Privacy Policy.

Who's behind it

Spokly is built by an independent developer based in Egypt. There's no big team and no investors, just one person building a tool they wanted for themselves and listening to the people who use it. Many creators speak in more than one language, and in dialects that most tools struggle with, so working well across languages is part of the plan from day one.

What's next

AI tools are coming soon: writing summaries, social posts and articles from your recordings, natural voice-overs, and AI translation for any browser. They'll run in the cloud, so they'll be part of simple paid plans, while the free tools stay free. If you'd like to know when they launch, leave your email.
