How to remove the pauses from a video
- Choose your video. MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 10 minutes on a computer and 90 seconds on a phone. An audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A or OPUS) works too.
- Press Find the pauses. Spokly listens to the sound, marks every pause that's long enough to cut, and shows them on the waveform. Pick Natural, Tight or Very tight, tap any part you want to keep, and play the preview: it already skips the cuts.
- Export. You get an MP4 at the original size, with the pauses gone and the sound and picture in sync. Audio files come back as M4A.
Every cut keeps a little room around the words, so nobody's sentence gets clipped, and each one has a short fade so there's no click in the sound.
Natural, Tight or Very tight?
- Natural cuts pauses of half a second or more and keeps a relaxed rhythm. Good for explainers, interviews and anything longer.
- Tight cuts shorter pauses too, for a faster pace.
- Very tight is the classic jump-cut style of short videos: almost every breath goes.
Under Advanced, set the minimum pause, the padding around speech and the silence threshold yourself. The threshold starts at a level worked out from your video's own background noise.
Then add captions
After the export, press Add captions to this video and the result opens in Captions on video, with nothing to upload again. To get the words as text instead, use audio and video to text.
Private and free
Your video never leaves your device. The pauses are found and cut in your browser, and the new video is made there too, with no watermark, no account and no limit on how many videos you do.
